Journal Two from Regan Endsley.

Hi. My name as you may know is Regan Endsley. I am a freshman at Ohio State University at Marion. I am currently majoring in special education. I live here in Marion and I have my whole life. I went to high school at Marion Harding. I lettered 4 years in volleyball and have been playing almost my whole life. I work at a gym here in Marion called "The Marion Fitness Club" I love working there and I've been there for almost 2 years now. Its a really easy, laid back job, great job for being in college.  I spend almost all my weekends going to different colleges where my friends are. Those are some facts about me.

So far in the book, The House on Mango Street  what stood out to me in this first 11 pages is that this book is very unique, has a lot of different themes, and is written in a very different way than most books, which I find intriguing. The idea I get out so far is Esperanza is a story teller and talks a lot about her life and her family and how she got to Mango Street. Esperanza also describes the different types of hair in the family and how her mothers is beautiful and smells like bread, i thought that was interesting. Another thing she explained is how boys and girls do not socialize with each other in the public, and so she has to socialize with her little sister. Lastly she talks about how she wants to change her name to a name that expresses herself like "X". There are so far a lot of aspects in this book and I'm excited to keep reading and see what is next!

  2. I agree with finding this book really unique. I agree with the same perspective that you have on the book that you think is happening. I think as well that she is a story teller, kind of finding her way and describing it as she goes on in the book.
