Journal two from John

Hello! My name is John Spangler and I'm from Delaware, Ohio. My interesting fact was I'm a freshman football coach at Delaware Hayes high school where I had graduated from just this past year.
My friend Anthony and I on vacation in St. Augustine, Florida
Something that really got to me in the book was in the "My Name" chapter. It was when she was talking about how she inherited her name from her grandmother and that the name meant sadness and some mean things like "a muddy color". Then later on in her grandmother's life she became a very lonely which also puts a damper on her name. But I think the part that got to me the most was when she said "I inherited her name, but I don't want to inherit her place by the window." I think the reason this hit me hard was because of my grandfather. I never met him but I'm named after him. But I've only heard great things about him so at least I'm named after someone that has had a good impact on life.

  1. "My Name" was definitely my favorite chapter too, I liked how she compared her name and her life to her grandmother's name and life.
